Drawing 1 is my first course as part of a degree in Painting with the Open College of the Arts.
I have always been interested in art, particularly drawing. At school I enjoyed art and was a member of the drawing and animation club. Once I entered the world of work, whilst the interest in art was maintained, the need to earn and my partner took priority. Over the last few years I have started to draw and paint again. I have traditionally drawn in a fairly realistic manner, however, lately I am trying to become more expressive and free with my drawings and it is this side I aim to develop more, as well as putting a bit more of “me” in my art (whatever that means!). A few months ago I attended Life Drawing classes run by my local Adult Education Unit and really enjoyed this experience.
I visit galleries in London and have the Turner Contemporary, Jerwood Gallery and The Towner fairly close-by on the coast. I am interested in art of the 20th century and am open to all new experiences.
